The most commonly used currency in Vietnam is the Vietnamese Dong (VND). You can make payments in Vietnam through methods like bank transfers, card payments, or cash. However, it is still advisable to keep some cash on hand for convenient transactions. There are 3 ways for you to exchange Vietnamese Dong:

  • You can find currency exchange counters in the arrival hall of the international terminal. You can purchase cash or make a transfer to your account. The exchange rates are updated from time to time.
  • Withdraw cash from an ATM at the airport or on the streets of Danang (you can easily find ATMs here or find ATMs near you on Google Maps from BIDV, Techcombank, Vietinbank, MSB, Agribank…).
  • At the hotel you stay at, you can ask at the reception desk.

The journey from Danang International Airport to the city center by car typically takes between 10 and 15 minutes. There are several transportation options available, such as private transport, taxis, public buses, shuttle buses, or use Grab services.

In case you use a private airport transfer service, you just need to go straight to the entrance. A travel agency or a transportation provider offers this service. The driver will wait for you outside the arrival hall with your name on a sign, assist you with your luggage, and take you to your destination.

A taxi is a popular and convenient transportation option that enables quick and effective mobility, especially for those traveling in large groups with many luggage, elderly people, or children. The cost of a taxi from the airport to the city’s center ranges between 80,000 and 120,000 VND per trip.
