Vietnam Temporary Residence Card

What is the requirement of temporary residence card?

Vietnam Temporary Residence Card will not be issued if the applicant’s passport is valid for less than one year, hence you should have good preparation with the following documents:

There are 2 options for you:

Option 1: If you are a foreigner granted Vietnam work permit, work in various kinds of foreign enterprises and representative offices of foreign companies or have a work permit exemption paper:

1. Certificate of operation of business (certificate of registration business, certificate investment, certificate of operation of representative office, branch,….)
2. Certificate of legal seal or Notification about uploaded the stamp on National Business Registration Portal (form NA16)
3. Dispatch and application for issuance of temporary resident card (NA16)
4. Application form for issuance of temporary resident card for foreigners (NA8)
5. 02 photos size 2cm x 3cm
6. Foreigner’s Certificate of issuance of temporary residence is confirmed by ward/village police where the foreigner is living.
7. Foreigner’s passport and Temporary residence card is issued previously
8. Written introduction of legal seal and signature of competent persons of the organization
9. Certificate of exemption work permit prescribed by law or a notarized copy of Vietnam work permit;

Option 2: If you are an accompanying relative such as spouse/father/mother,…

1. Certificate of operation of business (certificate of registration business, certificate investment, certificate of operation of representative office, branch,….)
2.  Certificate of legal seal or Notification about uploaded the stamp on National Business Registration Portal (form NA16)
3. Dispatch and application for issuance of temporary resident card (NA16)
4. Application form for issuance of temporary resident card for foreigners (NA8)
5. 02 photos size 2cm x 3cm
6. Foreigner’s Certificate of issuance of temporary residence is confirmed by ward/village police where the foreigner is living.
7. Foreigner’s passport and Temporary residence card is issued previously
8. Written introduction of legal seal and signature of competent persons of the organization
9. Family Relationship Certificates as Certificate of Marriage (husband/wife), Certificate of Birth (children/parents). Those documents must be consular legalized and translated into Vietnamese.

Note: The entry visa must be RELATIVE VISA (known as visa TT);

How long does it take to receive your result of temporary residence card?

• The processing time is 05 – 07 working days from the date of receiving complete documents.
