Question: French needs a visa to enter Vietnam?

Dears, May we consult you if a French needs a visa to enter Vietnam? It states in your website below that it is not necessary if the stay is within 15days. Is this applicable to both Tourist and Business Visa type? Would appreciate your kind revert soonest. Thanks very much!

Romuald R.

Answer

Dear Romuald,

Thank you for contacting us.

We would like to confirm that French passport holders are exempted for a Vietnam visa within 15 days, single entry. To enjoy the visa free, the new entry date must be at least 30 days apart from your last exiting date in Vietnam using visa exemption. If the time distance is less than 30 days, you still need to apply for a visa. By using this Visa exemption right, you can enter and get Immigration stamp at any Vietnam borders (land, air, sea).

The purpose of visit does not matter when you use the visa exemption right. Therefore, it is ok if you enter Vietnam to work or to travel.
