Foreign tourists can travel Vietnam freely with negative Covid result
The Ministry of Health said that visitors with negative COVID tests can enter Vietnam and enjoy quarantine-free travel from day one.
Foreign tourists entering Vietnam must have been negative SAR-CoV-2 (except for children under 2 years old) tests done within 72 hours prior to departure using the RT-PCR methods or within 24 hours in cases of rapid antigen tests, and the results must be certified by the authorities of the country where the tests are conducted.
In case of having not a certificate of negative tests upon arrival, they are required to take a test within 24 hours after entering and can leave the accommodation if the results are negative.
They must use PC-Covid app during their time in Vietnam as well as monitor their health themselves in 10 days after entering and inform medical staff as soon as possible if they have any symptoms of Covid. They are required to wear masks in public areas and disinfect their hands frequently.
Vietnam fully reopened its borders on March 15, 2022 after nearly 2 years.
The Vietnamese government agreed to resume its unilateral visa exemption policy for citizens from 13 countries on the same day too.
With these new Covids guidelines, international visitors and domestic travelers will be “treated the same way”, as Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam promised on late March 16,2022 and we do hope that inbound tourism to Vietnam will recover rapidly.
