If you are in New Zealand and plan to visit Vietnam but not in Vietnam visa exemption list, a Vietnam visa getting in advance is required for your trip.

There are two ways to apply for Vietnam visa in New Zealand:
1. Apply for Vietnam Visa at Vietnam Embassies/Consulates:
This is the traditional way that effective for all citizens and all borders (airports, land or sea) in Vietnam when visa on arrival was not applicable.
Procedure: Please go to the Vietnam Embassy or Consulate nearest your place to apply the visa. Original passport is required and it might take around 4-5 working days for visa processing. To save time, you are advised to contact the Embassy/Consulate for visa application requirements in advance.

2. Apply for Vietnam Visa on Arrival with (applicable for travelling by air and your citizenship is available in the nationality list)
Nowadays Vietnam visa on arrival is preferred for its convenience, such as: no need to go far to the Embassy, no document required but your passport, do it everywhere online and save your time (1-2 working days only).
