Russia launches charter flights to Cam Ranh
The Royal Flight Airlines of Russia on October 20 launched its first charter flights from Vladivostok International Airport to Cam Ranh city of Vietnam’s central Khanh Hoa province and Phuket of Thailand.
The carrier uses Boeing 767-300, Boeing 757-200 and Boeing 737-800 for the flights, Vladivostok International Airport said the same day.
Travel demand from Vladivostok in Russia’s Primorsky Krai region to Southeast Asian nations has increased recently. In the first nine months of this year, more than 40,000 people travelled on the Vladivostok-Vietnam/Thailand routes.
The number of tourists from Russia to Vietnam also expanded significantly with about 266,000 Russians recorded in the January-August period, up 125 percent year-on-year. The amount is expected to rise in the coming months when winter holidays begin in Russia.
